“A little lower, please.”

All I remember about the drawing pad I had as a kid was that it was big, the surface of the paper was smooth, and if I didn’t put the cover sheet behind the top sheet, the markers would bleed through onto the next page.

In this most recent venture into drawing, I’ve learned that there are a zillion types of paper. Paper with teeth. Paper that is cold pressed or hot pressed. Paper made of cotton. Paper made of wood pulp.

It was when I started to learn about the different types of ink that my concentration hit a brick wall and I had to take a nap.
