Experimenting with Color on Concrete
The upside to the castings that don’t turn out is that they give me the opportunity to experiment. This little guy came out of the mold with too many bubbles so I tried some black stain on him to see what would happen. I left the eyes unstained but stained the pupils. The gray pug turned out fine and I included him to show the contrast.

Garden Pugs
These are the four garden pugs I just listed in my Etsy Shop. They’re cast out of Portland cement and sand and will hold up to all sorts of weather. They have a small hole in the back so they can hang on a nail and be flush with the wall.

Concrete Fleegle
Fleegle gets his own mold. This is a sculpture of Fleegle I’ve been working on. It is a work in progress but it’s getting there. While looking at the photos I realized the tip of his nose is too square but I think I finally got the ears right. When I finish, I’ll make a rubber mold of him and cast it in concrete for the backyard. Fleegle will like that. He’ll probably lift his leg on it.
