Easter Island

When I want to experiment with a new color mix, I cast a head. The head on the far right is the one I cast today. I’m interested to see what it’ll look like in the rain. I could seal it, which would darken it, but it would always look the same, wet or dry, and not show any weathering.

Easter Island Head

This guy was a pet project I wanted to see if I could make. Easter Island Head. I’m going to stick a few of these in my garden tilted this way and that.

Concrete Fleegle

Fleegle gets his own mold. This is a sculpture of Fleegle I’ve been working on. It is a work in progress but it’s getting there. While looking at the photos I realized the tip of his nose is too square but I think I finally got the ears right. When I finish, I’ll make a rubber mold of him and cast it in concrete for the backyard. Fleegle will like that. He’ll probably lift his leg on it.

Clean Casting

Here is a casting from the pug 2.0 mold. It turned out really well. I haven’t tidied it up yet and it doesn’t look like there is much to do. No drilling out the nostrils on this one. I’ll let it cure overnight, tidy it up and then paint it.
